A guide for heat-set inserts
A simple tool I made for my lab: a custom tip for a soldering iron and a guide that holds it, for setting heat-set threaded inserts into 3D-printed parts at a consistent depth and angle.
The iron is clamped to an arm on a linear rail, up an aluminum extrusion frame, so it can only move straight up and down over the part.
